It's Always A Great Day For Golf In
NORTH CAROLINA !
The "TAR HEEL " State
From Left to Right: Ricky Sanders, Lynn Emmett, Dick McCoy and Mike Denham
This time around, NCDGA has hosted a "Captain Choice" tournament at HEMLOCK GOLF CLUB in Walnut
Cove, NC.The Hemlock Golf course is a par 70 and is quite hilly with a lot of blind turns. Those who yank out their drivers could
easily get in troubles. Some of the fairways run along the Dan River, which is pleasent to see.
McCoy, the Captain of the winning team, indicated the key here to winning was your short game. Our chipping and putting were what
got us the win. We were able to keep our putting strokes down to 21 putts.
Robert Ritch, the hosting member,
normally hosts an individual type tournament. This time around he decided to get more members involved by having a Captain
Choice game. There were 19 of us and all seemed to enjoy tournament. Oh, there was one more thing to say. There were two
dogs that kept running around us all day. We think it's McCoy's fault when he was seen feeding them beef jerky.
want to thank Ritch for an excellant tournament. We're looking forward to Ritch's next year tournament.
